Council on Aging Transportation Information

  The Council on Aging provides curb to curb services to Kingston residents age 60 years and older, as well  as to handicapped residents of any age, for medical and other appointments in contiguous towns; shopping  to designated areas; and to COA sponsored social, educational, and recreational activities.

  Requests for transportation are made by calling the Council on Aging Office at 585-0511 or 585-0512 on Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. These requests can be made several weeks in advance of an appointment BUT NOT LESS than 48 hours in advance.

  Transportation for Medical Appointments should be scheduled with the COA Dispatcher immediately after appointment is made with the physician.

  Unforeseen and urgent Medical Appointments will take precedence over other appointments.

  Return trips from appointments will be dispatched subject to availability of the van at the time of your call.

  Passengers who require transportation on a regular and consistent basis to the same location should confirm their request with the Dispatcher weekly.

  Passengers must be picked up from and returned to the same location unless stated so in advance.

  In order to insure the safety of passengers, seat belts must be worn at all times.

  The Council on Aging reserves the right to cancel transportation during inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions.

  An attendant is required to accompany all wheelchair passengers or at other times when it is deemed necessary.
